The word photography is a combination  of the Greek word : “ photo” meaning light and “ graphia” meaning writing or “ drawing”. So it   literally means “ writing

or drawing with light”. In 1839, Sir John Herschel ( the English Scientist and Astronomer) established the word “ photograph” as we know it today.

I have loved photography since I was very young. Starting off admiring my

fathers Agfa Silette 35mm in its brown leather case and taking every opportunity at 8 years old to hold it, look at it , admire the beauty of its construction and loved the smell of fresh brown leather of the case and when taking a photo amazed that I could actually do it. I did not want to let it go once I had the camera in my hands. Got a Kodak as a birthday present when I was 11 and my love of photography started and has never ceased.   My belief is photography is a journey which involves learning and sharing with others and constantly improving ones skills. Frenchman – Henri Cartier Bresson one of the all time legends photographing from the 1930’s to 1970’s  said : “ It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera … they are made with the eye, heart and head”.

There are endless opportunities for photography in this beautiful world.  My first loves are wildlife and nature. I hope you enjoy the photos I have created.
